Abstract

The town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a Rioja town attache to the kingdom of Panplona-Navarra for most part of the Middle Ages was already documented by the year 919. Since 1.172, when it was granted a regional law by Sancho VI, the town became a strategic bastion. The ground plan of this fortress-town is organized into three graded precints which are adapted to the topography ot the hill on which the town lies
