The second volume of "la tonadilla escenica" provides some data on the Basque Country that are presented in the article. The Scenic Popular Song was a scene of short duration, spoken or sung and of satirical or roguish character. The characters in some instances were danced or sang elements of their land and there is a Biskaian dance and a "Song of Biscay" .The song is "Iru Damatxo" the lyrics and music of which is transcribed in this article.
